Ive just hit this page and it spent 30 seconds downloading something from apture.com before the page completely loaded, perhaps that is part of the problem... I use disqus on several blogs and have never before come across any issues with speed... hope that helps.. :)

Thanks to Disqus team Jason Yan & Daniel Ha I have now installed Disqus2.0. It still seems terribly slow at pulling up the last comment.
